Ebonized Mango Wood Spindle & Arch Bed

Named for the great forts of Rajasthan, Qila is built on the architectural language we grew up surrounded by — the rhythm of an arcaded courtyard, the silhouette of a turned column, the deep shadow of an ebonized fort wall at dusk. The headboard rises in a quiet arch of slender spindles framed by bobbin-turned posts. The footboard answers it with a colonnade of carved arches — a temple-front rendered in dark mango wood.

A bed that does the work of architecture. Designed in Jodhpur. Hand-turned and ebonized in our workshop. Built to be specified into bedrooms that take their proportions seriously.

Materials & Finish

1. Frame: Solid mango wood (FAS grade, kiln-dried to 8–10% MC)
2. Spindles & posts: Hand-turned on lathe, solid stock
3. Footboard arcade: Routed and hand-finished arched relief, single-piece construction
4. Finish: Deep ebonized stain, hand-rubbed matte sealer — open-grain finish that retains the wood's tactility
5. Hardware: Concealed bolt-on construction with steel center support
6. Slats: Solid wood slat system included (no box spring required)
