Arcade Table — Architecture at the Scale of a Meal

Some tables hold a room. The Arcade Table is the room.

Its base is a study in architectural geometry — four interlocking arch forms stacked and mirrored in two tiers, each semi-circle carved from solid wood and finished in a deeply hand-worked aged brass leaf. The composition references the arcade — that ancient structural rhythm of repeated arches found in Roman colonnades, Mughal corridors, and the great covered markets of the world. Here, compressed into a table base, it becomes something totemic: a pedestal that earns the surface it carries.

That surface is Nero Marquina black marble — dense, dramatically veined in silver-white, polished to a depth that makes the stone appear liquid. Against the warm antique gold of the base below, the contrast is absolute. Dark and light. Stone and metal. Weight and warmth.

This is the centrepiece of a serious dining room, a hotel restaurant, or a lobby that understands that furniture can be sculpture.
